1. About The Bible:  

The Bible is the "Inspired" (God-Breathed) Word of God.  It is the only authority for our faith (what we believe) and practice (how we live).

2. About God:

God is the Creator, Ruler and Redeemer of the Universe.  He eternally exists in three personalities: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  These three are co-equal and are one God.  There is only one God.

3. About Jesus:

Jesus is the Son of God, co-equal with the Father, born of a virgin, living among us for two reasons: First, as our example in His teaching, worship and love; Second, to die for the sins of all humanity.  He was raised from the dead and ascended back to heaven.  He is coming again to gather the faithful to Him forever, and to judge the unfaithful.

4. About The Holy Spirit:

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son.  He is present in the world to present our need for Jesus Christ.  He also lives in every Christian providing them with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.

5. About Humanity:

People are made in the "Image of God."  Humans are the crown of His Creation.  Individually, we have great value in God's eyes as part of His creation.  But "all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory."  All need redemption.

6. About Salvation:

Forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are freely available to those who trust Jesus as Lord and Savior.  Jesus is available to all who Admit their sin, Believe in Jesus' death on the cross for their sins, Confess their faith in Jesus, and Die to their old life and raise to their new life in Christ - by being Immersed (Baptized) into Him.

7. About The Church:

The Church exists to provide for believers, a fellowship through which: worship, caring, teaching, and evangelism take place.  The Church exists to provide for the world: a light of hope, a witness to truth, and a caring community that both attracts and serves others, in the name of Jesus.

8. About Our Walk:

Followers of Jesus Christ ought to live in such a way that God will be glorified by their conduct, words, and attitudes.  While Christians are not perfect, they strive to put God first and ask, "What Would Jesus Do?" - and then endeavor to do that, as God leads.

9. About Heaven:

As a result of living as a Christian, death becomes merely a "door" that ushers us into Eternal Life with Jesus.  Heaven awaits the faithful, while Hell awaits the unfaithful, when Jesus comes again for His own.

10. About Our Brotherhood:

West Salem Christian Church is committed to the principles of the historically independent and non-denominational "Restoration Movement" of the Christian Churches and Churches of Christ.  WSCC is a non-denominational New Testament fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  We have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, and no law but Love.  We stand for Unity in faith-essentials, Liberty in issues which are non-essential, all under the umbrella of Love for one another.  We are not the only Christians, but we do endeavor to be "Christians Only."  Hence our church fellowship bears the name of the Savior: Christian Church or Church of Christ.
